Board & Train vs Day Train vs Private Sessions: Which Dog Training Program Is Right for You?

Choosing a dog training program can feel overwhelming. At K-11 Canine Care, we offer three main options, and every one of them uses positive reinforcement only. The right choice depends on your dog's needs, your schedule, and how hands-on you want to be.

Board & Train

Your dog lives with our team at K-11 for several weeks and receives daily one-on-one training, structured routines, and daycare socialization. Programs can focus on basic obedience, behavior issues, advanced off-leash work, or service dog training.

Best for: busy families, dogs with behavior challenges, or anyone who wants fast, focused progress. Length is set at your free consultation based on your dog's goals.

Day Train

Day Train offers the same structured training as Board & Train, but your dog comes in for the day and goes home each night. It can be paired with daycare, so your dog gets training, socialization, and exercise in one visit.

Best for: dogs who sleep better at home, and owners who want to practice skills every evening.

Private Sessions

One-on-one sessions with our lead trainer at our Warrensville Heights facility, tailored to your dog and your schedule. You are part of every session, so you learn exactly how to handle your dog.

Best for: targeted problems like leash pulling or jumping, skill building, and owners who want to be hands-on.

Quick comparison

  • Fastest results: Board & Train

  • Training plus home every night: Day Train

  • Most owner involvement: Private Sessions

  • Young puppies: our Puppy Socialization program, for puppies 8 weeks and up
